– Customer review on 12/02/2008I found Heather’s writing style drew me into her experience of where she was in the world. I found I got caught up in her day to day life as it was, without the glamour and glitz thats detracts from the personal experience. Raw would be another way to describe it, funny, her dry sense of humour shines and I would like to see more of her perception of the world in books. It is totally different to other books I have read and I’m pleased it was. An enjoyable read. |

– Customer review on 08/02/2008Heather’s writing style is engaging; she skillfully draws the reader into her travels in such a way that the reader becomes a willing participant, sharing every aspect of her adventures. There’s plenty of reading in Naked in Budapest – a great bedtime read that takes ‘dreaming of adventure’ to a whole new level. Through Heather’s descriptive narrative the reader truly gets to travel and experience the world from the safety of his/her bed (or armchair)! |

– Customer review on 08/02/2008This collection of short stories led me to places that I would not normally venture on my own, but in the company of this fearless author I felt I too could discover places as she had. I often felt that I wanted the stories to go on and on – so caught up in them I became. Very enjoyable real stories about real people by a no nonsense woman living her dream. |

– Customer review on 06/02/2008This book with the intriguing title is a travel book with a difference, because in an underlying way it tells not only of the writer’s travels, but her journey from the pain and loss which caused her to set out in the first place. One would expect a middle-aged woman travelling alone to stick to the safety of the tourist trails, but not this one! One has to admire her fearless venturing into what the more timid of us would call dangerous areas. She delighted in finding and connecting with the “real” people in out of the way places and taking on new challenges. How many of us would be game to walk into a Greek hotel and take over running the kitchen? The concise descriptive passages move fluently from one episode to the next and she took a genuine interest in the varied customs in so many different cultures. Her sense of humour shines through constantly and she is not afraid to laugh at herself. Well worth reading. |

– Customer review on 06/02/2008I really enjoyed reading this book. The author was so down to earth and said it like it is. I admired her bravery in travelling into so many parts of the world on her own. She has a great sense of adventure and not scared to take risks and at times felt I was travelling with her. Thanks for sharing a great read with me |
