The ‘old post office’ as we used to call the main building in this photos is still in “the square’ in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The building with the dome .. the Regent movie theatre.. has been demolished after the quake, and the large hotel is still operating and is a handy place to stay while in the city. I took this photo from the top of the cathedral which is still under threat of being demolished by the Anglican church despite most locals wanting it to be restored.
